A CAMBRIA ANNIVERSARY GET-AWAY
Day Two
It's been months since our 35th wedding anniversary get-away... Christmas has come and gone... 2018 has become 2019... Ojai had a very wet winter, yet we're still in a drought... how green is our valley? Very. Spring has sprung. Poppies and wildflowers are exploding on the mountains everywhere, and Richard and I just came back from a week in Sonoma, sightseeing, wine tasting and fine dining-ing which I was about to start blogging about, when realized I hadn't finished writing about our time in Cambria... So, as Anthony Newly (as Little Chap in "Stop The World I Want To Get Off) sang again in my head - 35 years, Evie... 35 years... plus six months, I transported myself back to Cambria...
After our overcast first day and stunning black & white sunset, we woke up on day two to a "sky covered marine layer" morning and, appropriately, decided to walk the bluffs at the nearby marine sanctuary...

The ocean views were breathtaking...
Scattered along the trail were very cool "architecturally-designed" benches made from driftwood...

After our hike on the bluffs, we headed out to tour the town and found the perfect place for lunch... Indigo Moon -- and like the sign said, "really good food."
And chose a table in the cozy front room...
We decided to share the Angus burger w/ sauteed mushrooms, grilled onions, lettuce, tomato and white cheddar cheese. I've never met a cheeseburger I didn't like - and this one was deliciously likeable.

After lunch we checked out the Indigo cheese shop next door. A darling space to grab a light lunch or buy some cheese to take home or back to your hotel room.
After lunch, we toured the back roads, eventually arriving back at our hotel to sip some wine, sample some cheese and watch the glorious (not black & white) sunset over the Pacific.
Time to get dressed for dinner.

Lovely scenery, been there a few times but long ago and do not remember those benches or the cheese shop. Thanks for stirring up some old and fond memories. Susan
